fooling around the world since april 1, 1973

Steve Levin

Steve’s first climb, an ascent of the Exum Ridge on Wyoming’s Grand Teton at age 13 (1972), sparked a love for adventuring that persists to this day. After several years climbing in the Gunks of New York, he graduated from high school and moved to Boulder to become a full time climber. He has since climbed extensively in Colorado and elsewhere, with special fondness for The Diamond, the Black Canyon, and desert sandstone towers.

Along the way, Steve backpacked extensively in the mountain and canyon country of Colorado and Utah (much of it as an instructor for Colorado Outward Bound); traveled and climbed in Europe, Canada, Central and South America (most recently to Peru in 2004); and backcountry skied all over the place. He is an active technical canyoneer, trail runner, mountain biker, skate skier and orienteer (earning a bronze ranking in his first year of national competition). He recently escaped from a career in the biopharmaceutical industry to join the Neptune’s team. These days he most enjoys escaping Boulder on van camping/climbing trips with his wife Sheryl.
