WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Working as part of the Neptune Ski Shop team to provide high-quality ski and snowboard service while delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Ski Technician is responsible for performing accurate, efficient and professional equipment services, helping customers understand their equipment and service needs, and contributing to a clean, organized and positive shop environment.

TECHNICAL & SHOP RESPONSIBILITIES
Ski & Snowboard Service
- Perform ski and snowboard tunes, including base preparation, edge work, waxing, deburring, polishing and finishing.
- Perform equipment repairs and maintenance with attention to quality, consistency and detail.
- Mount and adjust ski bindings according to established shop procedures, manufacturer specifications and applicable industry standards.
- Inspect equipment and identify issues that may affect performance, safety or serviceability.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship while efficiently completing service work within expected turnaround times.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders and customer equipment throughout the service process.
Customer Experience
- Listen to and identify customers’ equipment needs and provide an exceptional service experience.
- Explain recommended services, repairs and equipment needs clearly and accurately.
- Help customers understand how proper equipment maintenance can improve performance, longevity and enjoyment.
- Find solutions to customer needs, problems and objections.
- Communicate clearly with customers and other staff regarding service expectations, timing and equipment concerns.
Shop Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe ski shop and work area.
- Maintain and properly use ski shop tools, machines and equipment.
- Follow established procedures for equipment intake, service, quality control and customer pickup.
- Monitor supplies and communicate equipment or supply needs to management.
- Assist with rental, retail, backstock/restock and other shop responsibilities as needed.
- Assist with special projects, events and other duties that support the overall operation of Neptune Mountaineering and the Neptune Ski Shop.
Other
- Ability to learn and effectively use our Point of Sale System for transactions, work orders and customer records.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, seasonal environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Availability to regularly work during peak retail business times, including holidays, weekends and evenings.

Preferred Personal Characteristics & Skills
- Prior experience working in a ski or snowboard shop.
- Experience with ski and snowboard tuning, repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with ski and snowboard equipment, construction and performance characteristics.
- Technical or mechanical aptitude and a desire to continue developing technical skills.
- Interest and participation in skiing, snowboarding and other outdoor sports and activities.
- Knowledge of the local ski area and Colorado mountain environment.
- Prior experience in outdoor retail or customer service.
